Job Title: Director of HR and Administration

Salary Range: $155,000 - $170,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR professional to lead our Human Resources and Administration functions.
Position Description:
Reporting to the Controller, the Director of HR and Administration oversees daily corporate administration and HR operations, providing strategic counsel to senior management. This role involves managing HR policies, benefits, compliance, talent acquisition, corporate administration, and risk management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources:
- Administer benefits, including health, dental, life insurance, 401(k), and LOA programs; ensure ACA compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate and implement policies, including employee handbooks, safety programs, and workplace violence prevention.
- Manage talent acquisition, collaborating with managers to build a high-performing, diverse workforce.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives, annual salary surveys, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct investigations related to employment issues, including harassment and discrimination, in line with company guidelines.
- Provide coaching and training programs for managers in areas such as disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and harassment prevention.
- Manage HR compliance audits and ensure alignment with employment laws and regulations.
- Handle employment-based visa and immigration processes, including renewals and documentation.
- Supervise HR staff and manage ad hoc projects.
Corporate Administration:
- Oversee business licenses, permits, and bond issuances for operations.
- Monitor contracts and agreements, collaborating with legal counsel for reviews.
- Manage corporate insurance policies, including health, liability, property, and workers' compensation.
- Direct procurement and asset control to ensure compliance and accurate recordkeeping.
- Manage company auto fleet leasing programs, workplace safety initiatives, and contingency planning.
- Coordinate energy-saving and sustainability initiatives for the corporate headquarters.
- Lead administrative staff to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive HR management experience, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience with business insurance coverages, risk management, and compliance.
- Knowledge of safety programs, contingency planning, and workplace violence prevention.
Skills:
- Proficiency in HRIS, ATS, payroll systems, and web-based LMS applications.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
- Bilingual in English and Japanese (required).
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
